Welcome...
|
Thank you for
visiting my site. If you are like me, you might
not know exactly what it is about a photo that makes
you stop to look. Whether it's black and white or
color it may be the textures or composition that
caught your eye. I photograph what I like, what
pleases me, and I can't always explain it. It's
about How Eye See It.
I began 'taking pictures'
about the age of 8; my Mom and Dad bought a Polaroid
Swinger for me. Most of my first photos are of my
family. As I look back at those photos it is easy
to see where my love of photography came from...my
Dad. It's a rare picture of him if he doesn't have
his camera hanging around his neck. I've been an
'amateur freelance photographer' for 40 years. My
first 'gallery showing' was when I was a junior
in highschool. I had been on a class trip to the
United Nations in New York and captured the image
of a baby in a wicker-type basket in the U.N. gift
shop. When the film was developed I sent the photo
to the nice people there and they wrote back to
tell me they had put it on display. Oh, I
was so proud!
Photography gives me an inner peace. I'm not always
completely satisfied with the way a shot turns out
but I try not to get discouraged; each photo is
a learning experience. As I mentioned, I take photos
of things that please me and that mostly is Nature.
Mine are pure photographs, not enhanced or altered
in anyway. We live in a beautiful world, sometimes
we just need to stop and a take it in.
I hope you have a glorious day and that you have
found something that gives you peace. I'm proud
that you have chosen my work to have in your life.
My Best,
Mary
